"Hi! I’m Geoff, a licensed elementary teacher who specializes in early reading and math for grades K–2, the years when children are building the foundation for everything that comes next.
I believe the most effective learning happens when students feel known, supported, and excited to learn. I start by getting to know each child (their interests, strengths, and learning style) and tailor my instruction to meet their unique needs. My sessions are structured, goal-oriented, and data-informed, but always engaging and encouraging. I want students to feel confident, capable, and proud of their progress.
I love early elementary education because these years are where children develop not just academic skills, but a lifelong relationship with learning. Helping a child crack the code of reading, build number sense, or gain confidence in problem-solving is incredibly rewarding, and I work hard to make those “aha” moments joyful and motivating.
Before becoming a teacher, I spent over 20 years in the technology industry, which strengthened my skills in organization, data analysis, and problem-solving. I now bring that same mindset into my teaching, using assessments and observations to set clear goals, track progress, and adjust instruction as needed.
I’m also the parent of an elementary-aged child and a youth t-ball and soccer coach, which gives me a strong appreciation for how children learn both inside and outside the classroom. I understand the importance of patience, consistency, and encouragement, and I value strong partnerships with families.
Whether your child needs support building foundational skills, extra practice to gain confidence, or enrichment to stay challenged, I’d love to help. I look forward to working together to support your child’s growth." less...
