"My name is Derek, and my most defining quality is that I love to learn new things. This extends to helping others to navigate through their problem areas and even learning something new from them sometimes. I have an intensive love of all disciplines within mathematics and statistics and hope that through hard work and dedication that I can make a difference in many students' lives. I have roughly four years of tutoring experience in major disciplines of mathematics and statistics, which include calculus, probability theory, logic, and operations research. After I received my BS in Applied Mathematics and Statistics from Stony Brook University, I began tutoring independently in order to apply my mathematical skills towards my career goal of becoming a college professor and practicing data scientist. I have experience teaching for Mathnasium, contracting for Varsity Tutors, and providing expert tutoring through Wyzant. I currently offer both private in-person and online sessions. I am currently working towards the MS Degree in Data Science at Rochester Institute of Technology and plan on tutoring with 10-20 private students.
