"Teaching Experience

I am currently a 1st-6th grade Reading Intervention Teacher in the Ontario-Montclair School District. I have been working in this position for the last 9 years. I received my Masters in Literacy in 2019, and I love teaching young children how to read. I have tutored many students individually.

In addition to teaching, I also worked at a Kumon Math and Reading tutoring center for over three years. I love helping children succeed in school, and I am very patient. I have worked one-on-one with students and with small groups of students. I have tutored hundreds of students as young as pre-K all the way through the eighth grade, and I am very passionate about helping others. Education

I received my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from Cal Poly Pomona in June 2015. I became certified to teach in the elementary grades by completing coursework designed to prepare me to become an elementary school teacher. For every elementary subject, I was instructed in how to make the student's material meaningful to them.

After completing the courses for the credential program and passing various subject specific tests, I was able to practice my teaching in the classroom. I worked with highly qualified teachers in Chino Hills and was given the opportunity to teach with them and to also teach independently for two weeks. From September to March, I taught in a kindergarten classroom at Country Springs Elementary. I was then placed in a sixth grade classroom at Eagle Canyon Elementary in March, and I completed my student teaching in June.
