"Hello! I am a Master of Social Work (MSW) graduate with strong academic training and hands-on experience in clinical, community, and educational settings. I am passionate about helping students feel confident, capable, and supported in reaching their academic goals. I enjoy breaking down challenging material and helping students understand it in a way that works for them.
Educational Background
I hold a Master of Social Work, a Bachelor of Social Work, and an Associate of Arts in Social Work. Through my studies, I developed strong skills in research writing, human development, psychology, counseling concepts, reading comprehension, and APA formatting. My honors experience strengthened my organization, writing, and study strategies.
Tutoring Experience
I have supported a wide range of learners in multiple subjects.
• GED Prep: Helped peers with reading, writing, test strategies, and foundational math.
• ACT Prep (English, Reading, Writing & Math): Assisted students with all language sections and helped strengthen math skills for the ACT math portion.
• Algebra Tutoring: Tutored a 9th-grade student in Algebra during my HealthConnect internship, focusing on step-by-step problem solving and building confidence.
• Academic Support: Frequently helped peers with writing, APA formatting, and social science coursework throughout college and graduate school.
Professional Background
My clinical and community internships required strong documentation, communication, assessment, and writing skills. Customer service and administrative roles strengthened my patience, clarity, and ability to explain information effectively.
My Approach
My teaching style is patient, supportive, and individualized. I focus on breaking down complex material, modeling strong writing and organization, teaching study and test-taking strategies, and helping students build confidence. I create a comfortable, judgment-free environment where students feel safe asking questions and learning at their own pace." less...
