"I’ve held a lifelong passion for exploring the environment and expressing my relationship with it through art. I love to share and instill such passion for learning in others through teaching. Whether a student, or an accomplished Artist, it’s about continually learning to see the world from different perspectives, learning to recognize ones physical and mental connection with it, and then expressing that in a visual, and sometimes tactile form. Learning specific technical skills is also necessary for an Artist to feel comfortable in expressing in a chosen medium. Art is unique in that the Artist’s creative experience with a piece is certainly different than that of the audience. Hopefully the experience is beneficial for both.

Many Artists focus on one type of art, and become experts in their craft. There’s nothing wrong with that. I have been an Artist for about 40 years, with 28 of those years in the commercial art glass industry. During that time I was fortunate enough to explore many artistic avenues, various mediums and techniques including: traditional drawing, painting, printing, and sculpture, mold making, glass casting, plus digital medium for drafting and graphics using Photoshop. I was also involved as an assistant project coordinator and technical problem solver. I also enjoy exploring art history and antiquities.

As an Art Educator and Leader, I developed a complete K-12 Art curriculum, providing for a sequential, cognitive skills development using art, with an interdisciplinary connection when feasible. I coached the high school "Odyssey of the Mind" problem solving team to 2nd place at state. I also coached the Prom team, and coordinated the annual Art Fair.

I am no longer working for a commercial art glass company. I am an on-call substitute teacher for the public schools, and am attending Symmetry Solutions School and learning SolidWorks 3-D CAD.
