"I graduated from the University of Central Florida with an undergrad degree in Electrical Engineering and a minor in Physics. I did well getting into college by receiving a score of 33/36 ACT and 1420/1600 SAT. I was also a member of the honors college by maintaining a GPA of above 3.0 during my time there. During undergrad I began tutoring athletes in STEM and received several tutor of the month awards from my department. I also previously received a Math teaching certification to qualify as a high school teacher.
I always try to take the students interests and apply them to what we're learning. This helps connect the new information being learned to something that the student already has a strong knowledge of and attachment to. For example, If you like sports, I would prefer to use examples from sports plays and recent games to teach math concepts. First, I like to gain an understanding of my students' interests, then I review concepts on a fundamental level. This part is more like a conversation where I eventually have the student explain it to me like I'm a child to prove that they understand it. From there we learn our fundamental equations and practice problems together to strengthen our skills. Finally the student does a problem by themselves to show their proficiency.
Currently I tutor Science, Engineering, Math, a few languages, and college standardized tests. I've been tutoring for 14 years and I have experience with ages 10 years old and up. The bulk of my time has been spent tutoring mechanical and electrical engineering students exam prep for various courses. My approach was to do large group reviews separated into course concept and practice sessions. It worked well and I had a passing rate of B or higher with 97% of my students.
You never have to worry about communication issues as I always reply within 24 hours and go above and beyond to provide notes or information that will help you through your topic. Please reach out with any inquiries or appointments. I look forward to working with" less...
