"Hello! And Hola, Bonjour, and Bom dia! I am an experienced educator with university, K-12, and adult literacy experience. As a student in a college prep high school in Baltimore, Maryland, I started serving as a writing tutor for my peers, and I have been tutoring , advising, mentoring, or teaching ever since. I love to help students discover their strengths; break big tasks into small, achievable pieces; and find creative approaches to complex topics.

As a professor at Virginia Commonwealth University, I helped students write essays, compose oral presentations, train as peer mentors, and build confidence in themselves as learners. As a college and career advisor, I helped students prepare submissions for scholarships and colleges, identify their interests, write resumes, and make summer plans that would position them well for future opportunities.

As the director of a high school pilot program called Credits, College, and Careers, I helped students develop skills for the future, including work-life balance, time management, and choosing a college major. I also helped them through the dreaded Senior Slump, where that last stretch before graduation seems to last forever.
