"Hello! My name is Josh, and I am a Nationally Registered Paramedic (NRP) and Oregon-licensed Paramedic with extensive experience in a high volume 911 service. I hold an Associate of Science degree from Portland Community College that I obtained at the age of 17, and my clinical training spans high-volume systems in Oregon and Texas—including rotations with Dallas Fire/Rescue and major hospital networks—giving me strong exposure to medical, trauma, and critical care cases. My background as both an AEMT and Paramedic allows me to confidently teach across all EMS levels.
My tutoring approach focuses on clarity, practical application, and building confidence. EMS education can feel overwhelming, and the “textbook” often doesn’t translate to real field knowledge, so I break down complex topics—airway, cardiology, pathophysiology, pharmacology, assessment, and protocols—into simple, logical steps that connect classroom knowledge to real patient care. I use interactive, scenario-based teaching, case examples, and step-by-step reasoning to help students understand not only what to do, but why.
I have taught and mentored students one-on-one, in small groups, and informally in the field. I’ve worked with elementary and high school students, new EMTs, paramedic students, and providers preparing for the National Registry. My goal is to help improve clinical judgment and gaining confidence before field internship and real practice. I tailor each session to the student’s goals, pace, and learning style.
My goal is to help future EMS providers become competent, confident clinicians who can think clearly under pressure. I’m passionate about teaching, committed to student success, and excited to help you master the material and feel prepared for class, testing, and the field." less...
