"I am currently a rising senior at St. Francis High School in Mountain View, where I have maintained a strong academic record, boasting a 4.4 GPA and an SAT score of 1530+. Over the past year, I have been actively involved with the California Scholarship Federation, an esteemed honor society that recognizes student tutors. Through this organization, I have dedicated multiple hours weekly to tutoring fellow students one-on-one across a diverse range of subjects and academic levels—from Advanced Placement courses to honors and standard classes. My tutoring approach includes offline components too, in the sense that I encourage students to reach out between sessions if questions arise. If I am working with a student continuously, I often assign them additional work at the end of sessions.
My academic journey reflects my commitment to rigorous coursework; I successfully completed two AP classes as a sophomore, four AP classes as a junior, and I am currently enrolled in six AP courses. This experience has equipped me with a deep understanding of high academic standards and a versatile skill set across various disciplines.
Beyond academics, I am passionate about leadership and community engagement. I founded a mindfulness organization called Apart But Not Alone, and I teach fencing to children in the local community. Additionally, I served for three years on the City of Cupertino’s Youth Activity Board, collaborating with city officials to develop programs and events that support and empower young people. I also had the honor of delivering a TEDx talk last year, and I currently serve as a board member for both the TEDx program and the California Scholarship Federation at my school. Furthermore, I participate in a mentorship program designed to support incoming freshmen, which has enriched my experience in guiding and motivating peers. Collectively, these experiences have honed my interpersonal skills and reinforced my dedication to helping students achieve academic success." less...
