My name is Barbara, I was born and raised in Germany and worked for 15 years as a Training and Quality Executive in the hotel industry, one of the companies being The Ritz-Carlton, one of the best training companies in the world. I was a public speaker for The Ritz-Carlton, Wolfsburg, and provided quality and service training sessions for German companies such as Audi and Siemens. I was also in charge of all in-house training and spent up to 20 hours per week in a classroom environment. I transferred with The Ritz-Carlton to Miami in 2005. I enjoyed working as an Executive in South Beach until 2009 when I got married and had my daughter.

I decided to fully homeschool my now 13-year-old daughter for several years, who, as a result, is fluent in German in both speaking and writing. We moved to NYC in 2013 and I was approved by and followed the official NYC Department of Education guidelines for homeschooling.

I joined an after-school program in NYC, taught in English, for Grades 1 to 6 in 2014, and was the program director until 2019 when my family and I relocated to Florida - Tampa this time.

My husband is of Japanese origin. Being in an interracial marriage and raising a child in a household where multiple languages are spoken, I truly appreciate and understand the importance of learning about different cultures and languages. Having taught for many years and being a language student (intermediate Japanese), I know how to keep students interested in learning - and I love to work with different materials such as games, books, worksheets, and role play to keep it exciting and motivating. I purchase new and stimulating learning materials on a regular basis.
