"I'm Adriana! I graduated from Grand Valley State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies and a minor in Philosophy. I am a native Spanish speaker and am available to tutor beginner to advanced Spanish. During my undergraduate studies, I studied abroad in Madrid, Spain. Courses included: Communication Studies and Advanced Spanish. I believe that the best way to learn a language is to incorporate it to your daily routine in an enjoyable way, such as through films and music. I also have experience tutoring middle school math. During my spare time, I enjoy listening to audiobooks and learning photography.

While I was in college, it became more apparent to me that not all students learn the same way. For example, some students learn easier through imagery, while others through reading and writing. When I tutor, I like to try my best to cater to the student's learning style. Additionally, as a tutor, I like to make learning a subject fun by using applicable examples to the student's life, such as their hobbies. When meeting a student for the first time, I like to get to know them a little bit better by getting to know their interests in order to try to better tailor the lessons to them. I also like for the student to tell me their goals and what they would like the most help with so that I can better focus the lessons on the specific topic. Once I introduce the lesson and answer any questions, I allow the student to have plenty of time to dive into the topic themselves, taking mini pauses to help them as needed. At the end of the lesson, I revise the material and ask the student for feedback in order to make sure they understand the material and address any last questions they may have.
