"Hi, my name is Jacob. While I’m not currently in school and I don’t hold a college degree, I’m a strong believer in independent learning and self-education. Math has always come naturally to me, and I excel at breaking down complex ideas into simple, understandable steps. Throughout high school, I consistently earned top grades in math by relying on solid fundamentals, quick concept comprehension, and efficient use of class time—often completing assignments with confidence before I even left the classroom.

My ability to teach has been demonstrated through several experiences where I helped others build skills quickly and effectively. In eighth grade, I worked with a clarinet player who joined band three years later than most students. Despite starting far behind, he progressed from a true beginner to earning second chair by his freshman year of high school. Later, in high school, I taught a tenor saxophone player who joined band a year late and was still performing at a seventh-grade level due to a lack of proper instruction. With focused guidance and consistent support, he not only caught up to high school performance standards but eventually went on to become a jazz musician at SBU.
