I am the 2021 Youth Poet Laureate of the Southern United States, a proud neurodivergent 9th-generation Tennessean, a Presidential Scholar of the Arts, a two-time TEDx Speaker, and a Scholastic Gold Medalist. I am also a United States Arts Envoy, a Davidson “Youth Genius Grant” Fellow, and the founder of AboveGround, an award-winning nonprofit that teaches creative writing and neurodivergent education. I work at the Rich Milner Research Laboratory at Vanderbilt University and hold a degree in Spoken Word Pedagogy with a minor in Religion from Swarthmore College. My work has appeared in the New York Times, Rattle, Washington Post, the Tennessean, National Geographic, and more.
