As someone diagnosed with autism and ADHD, I know what it’s like to learn in a system not designed for you. I also know how powerful it is to have a role model who experiences the world the same way you do. I’m passionate about the neurodivergent community as a whole, not just AuDHD, and I adapt learning to each child’s needs, not the other way around.
I take a non-conventional approach whenever possible. Flashcards and worksheets are boring. Movement, music, storytelling, building, creation, and imagination? Way more engaging and make learning something to look forward to, not dread. I integrate learning into a child’s inner world, instead of trying to pull them out of it.
Relationships come first. My goal is for kids to enjoy tutoring sessions. Every small achievement is celebrated big, and I create a space where kids feel safe to admit they don’t know something. I normalize struggle so they can build confidence and perseverance without shame.
Learning is a two-way street. Your child will teach me as much as I teach them. I will adapt to their unique ways of communicating, interacting, and understanding.
