"Hello there! My name is Dr. Sean G. I began my studies at James Madison University where I got a degree in Biotechnology. While at JMU I lead research on understanding the neuroanatomical development of the inferior colliculus (a mod brain region). I then moved on to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where I got my PhD in neuroscience. There i investigated how sleep impacts brain biochemistry in healthy and disease model mice. I am currently at Duke University researching what neuronal proteins are essential for short term memory.

During my educational training, I have had the privilege of mentoring dozens of students, primarily high school and college students, totalling 10 years of experience. I have expertise tutoring in chemistry, biology, and neuroscience. My teaching philosophy is to encourage independent thought and critical thinking by allowing the student to get to the answers themselves.
