I have been teaching math for over 20 years. Most of my tutoring is private students. Wyzant's platform is a new venue for me.

I love academics and I love teaching - I understand math from all angles (pun intended). I specialize in helping students see problems from a perspective that makes sense to them. If you understand the principles of a problem, there is no memorizing, it becomes natural and easy. I also enjoy teaching Science ( Physics, Chemistry and Biology), English (writing, reading, vocabulary, literature), Study Skills, Common Core subjects, SAT prep, and organizational skills.

I taught in a conventional high school (math, physics, English, and Study Skills for 20+ years) and I taught students with special needs (math, chemistry, Common Core, English, 11 years). But mostly I have spent my time tutoring students privately. I enjoy seeing students get the hang of it and begin to do well, and maybe even admit that they like academics.

Math, and academics in all subjects, make sense to me. You can always find a sequential progression of steps that culminate in a logical conclusion. The key is understanding the steps. That's where I can guide you!

I majored in mechanical engineering in college, which is basically 4 years of math, math and more math, and physics. In my spare time I play math games, do math mind games and puzzles. and read books; read, read, read. I have always loved school, either as student or teacher.
