"Hi, I'm Vincent! I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Brandeis University with a degree in Neuroscience and Biology, and a minor in Chemistry. My senior thesis was in Computational Neuroscience, providing me with wide experiential coverage of biology, chemistry, physics, differential calculus, computational data analysis, and scientific writing. Prior to college, I worked as an educator at a small museum in Connecticut, designing and teaching middle-school targeted classes on everything from Electromagnetism to Norse Mythology. Currently, I'm training to become a neuroscientist.
In college, I couldn't contain my curiosity-- I took as many courses in as many departments as I possibly could. It is my sincere conviction that true, permanent knowledge is born out of first principles and nurtured by intrinsic curiosity, motivating learning beyond the exam. I know the value of a great teacher-- I will always meet mentees where they're at and am capable of a wide range of instructional styles ranging from by-the-book to based on experimentation and experiential learning, and will always back up theoretical explanations with real-world, lived experiences where possible.
I have seven years of experience working with children ages 7-13, and 3 years of extensive experience working with college age and older adults (My average Teaching Assistant review in college was 4.87 / 5). I am similarly experienced working with people with ADHD (having it myself), am highly communicative, flexible, and able to adjust lesson plans on the fly. In addition to STEM, I'm passionate about creative writing, history, engineering, and music.
I aim to be the best resource possible, and welcome any and all resources, questions, and feedback from mentees and parents alike. Please feel free to contact me with questions or to schedule a lesson!" less...
