"My name is Angela and I have been a Registered Nurse for over 28 years. I started my career with an Associate’s Degree in Nursing. I completed my Bachelor’s Degree in 2009 and then my Master’s Degree in Nursing Education in 2014. I started teaching part-time in 2007 and I have been teaching full-time for the last 8 years.

I currently teach full-time at a community college. I teach a variety of topics including maternal-child nursing and medical-surgical nursing (diabetes, cancer, etc.). I also enjoy teaching dosage calculations!!

I teach in both the classroom and clinical setting. I enjoy the opportunities to share new information with students and see them get excited about the things they are learning. I try to share as many hands-on learning activities as possible, but I also share stories from my experience as a nurse.

I work hard to make a connection with my students. I want to discover how they learn best so that I can help them to be successful. As a nursing instructor I spend many hours each week tutoring my students. I like to explore with my students what methods they have been using to study and what other methods they could benefit from. Sometimes a student needs to make only some small changes in their the study habits to make a BIG difference. I also help students to learn how to read and answer NCLEX style questions. These types of test questions are different from general education-type test questions. It is important for students to learn as much about test-taking as it is to learn the material. NCLEX-style questions require that you not only know the material, but that you are also able to apply that knowledge in the clinical setting.
