"Hello, my name is Justin! I am currently a 2nd-year dental student at NYU and graduated from UCLA with a bachelor's degree in psychobiology.

My approach to tutoring will be to first better understand the person as a student and learner. This is because I realize that every person thinks differently and has their own unique strengths. It is my job as your tutor to identify and bring out your greatest potential. I can relate to this matter on a personal level as well. As a student, I have never been the smartest nor the best test taker, but I attribute my success to my resourcefulness in finding new ways that help me do well. Therefore, I can relate to many who seek tutoring because I have been in their shoes and have sought tutoring of my own in the past. Learning from these experiences, I know that the best tutors don’t use the “one size fits all approach.” Instead, they individualize and plan according to each student’s specific needs.

A typical tutoring session would first involve getting to know the student and identifying their learning habits. Then working with the student to come up with a plan they agree with that helps aid their weaknesses and bring out their strengths. It is important that the student communicates specifically what they are looking to get out of tutoring. Let’s say they are looking for a certain test score or grade in class. Once these have been identified, we will make a schedule and set reasonable goals.

Hopefully, through this process, we can find success. The subjects that I am strongest in are science, mathematics, and standardized testing. This was proven with my 34 ACT with 35 on ACT math and 36 on ACT science. Also, I achieved a 3.7+ science GPA at UCLA. I specialize in DAT tutoring as well because I scored a 25(top 200-300 in the nation that year) and as a current dental student, I can offer more insight into the dental admissions process. Thank you and please feel free to reach out to me with any questions!" less...
