By day, I work as a data analytics consultant. So I’m passionate about data literacy which I believe starts with the fundamentals of statistics. And most students are introduced to these fundamentals in AP Stats, which makes this a really fun subject for me to teach.

If you are taking AP Statistics this year and things aren’t clicking right away, I highly recommend finding a tutor. It’s the best way to avoid being miserable for the entire year. And statistics shouldn’t make anyone miserable - it’s actually a lot of fun!

Most students believe that if they are good in mathematics, like algebra or calculus, that AP Stats will be easy. Unfortunately, it’s not a given. Statistics is very different from pure mathematics and it can throw even really bright students for a loop. So don’t panic and just find a tutor who knows her stuff. Like me. :)

About Me

I completed my BS in Mathematics in 3 years, got a Masters in International Relations in Brussels, taught Mathematics and Statistics for a few years in South Korea, went back to graduate school - this time at NYU - to study Applied Statistics and fell in love with Data Science. I then founded the consulting firm My Data Science Tutor and now work as a data analytics consultant. So I basically use the fundamentals taught in AP Stats on a daily basis.

Teaching Experience

I'm a former mathematics and statistics teacher with 15+ years of combined teaching and tutoring experience. I have either taught or tutored every level of Mathematics from K-12, including Statistics and Physics. I have taught exam prep for the Regents Exams, AP Stats, AP Physics, SAT, ACT, GRE and GMAT. I have taught in both public and private schools as well as international schools, on two continents. By far, the most fun and effective teaching I've ever done has been through 1-on-1 tutoring.
