"I am a published author. "The First Fig Tree," a novel (nominated for the Booker Prize) and "Men of Vision: Claflin College and Her Presidents," a history, are my major works.

I have worked in network television news and also taught English and Liberal Arts courses at the university level.

As a tutor, I'm particularly interested in helping high school students and adults who want to upgrade their educational skills, complete courses or seek undergraduate degrees.

Tutoring sessions are specifically designed for each student. Patience, encouragement and building confidence are always included in each session."
