"I am Quentin R. For twenty-five years I worked in the Land Surveying profession. During that time I worked on a Land Surveying field party, as a Rodman, Chainman, Insterment Man and field crew Party Chief. As a Party Chief it was my responsibility to direct the survey recording horizontal and vertical measurements and making a map of the land being surveyed. My responsibility as well was teaching all field party members basic land surveying, it became a daily routine. On any given day a field party member may have to operate the surveying instrument or be Party Chief for the day. All field party members who worked with me were well versed in Land Surveying methodology.

I worked for Pepsi Cola and Dr. Pepper bottling companies delivering beverages, was a retail store manager and worked in a group home for the mentally challenged teaching them everyday life skills; proper dress for weather conditions, personnel grooming (men and women both), personnel hygiene, safe food preparation, table manners and a host of other skills. All of that with one goal in mind that the individual person could live on their own with limited supervision. During my tenure in the home one young man and one lady were able to leave the group home and live independently. It was an exhilarating experience teaching others, one I wish to continue by making myself available as a tutor.

My personal goal is to help young men and women prepare for college. A tutor not only teaches the subject at hand they listen to the student offering the tutor's personal insight and advice on the student's college major and suggesting which minors would go well with the students major. I have sixty hours of college with a GPA of 3.64. During the academic year of 1991-1992 based on the evaluation of Weatherford College faculty I was recognized as the outstanding student in Sociology.
