"Hi, I’m Kerry, an Orton-Gillingham trained tutor and practicing speech-language pathologist. I graduated from George-Washington University with a master’s degree in speech-language pathology. I have 4+ years experience working with students in a one-on-one setting. I integrate my master's-level foundation in language and literacy development with the structured literacy approach of OG to create comprehensive and individualized lesson plans. As an SLP, I believe in a neurodiversity-affirming approach to learning which integrates multi-sensory activities to increase engagement and support all types of learners.

I have worked with students of all ages, from birth to adults. I currently work as an SLP in a hospital and early intervention setting and tutor elementary-aged students using Orton-Gillingham principles after-school. As you can see, I love to work with everyone! I am passionate about individuals finding confidence in their voice and believe that oftentimes our voice is accessed through reading and writing.

My lesson plans have a clear outline with direct instruction followed by a game to promote carryover of previously learned skills. I start each session with a phonological awareness activity, then introduce a new concept, practice the concept across reading and writing tasks and end with a game.
