"I became a tutor during my undergraduate studies. I graduated summa cum laude from Ashford University with a double major in Social Sciences with a concentration in Education and English Language Learner Studies. I continued a 4.0 GPA with my M.Ed. in Adult Education and also earned a graduate certificate in Teaching with Technology and Distance Learning. I have been on the Wyzant top 100 tutors list and have met students from all over the world while teaching English language acquisition, reading, writing, and TOEFL test prep.

For the past 5 years, I have been working with VIPKid International teaching Chinese students English through an American Common Core State Standards curriculum. I worked 40 to 50 hours a week, and will miss those younger learners, but China has now forbidden Western Influence from American and Canadian English teachers online. I am happy to be back with Wyzant and look forward to meeting many new learners through this venue.

My specialties are in ESL, writing, reading, pronunciation, and preparation for the TOEFL. My teaching is student centered, addressing the needs of individual learners. During our first meeting, we will discuss your learning goals and I will assess strengths and needs to write a plan for achievement. I do not charge a fee for this first assessment meeting, which helps you increase your return on investment. While some learners just need a little extra help, others, especially my TOEFL learners, work with a calendar of assignments that I design to maximize success.
