"I am a current senior at Washington University in St. Louis majoring in Chemistry. I will be attending medical school in August and am eager to help students conquer pre-med classes as well as study for the MCAT.

For the past four years, I have worked as an online ACT tutor for underprivileged Latinx high school students. I have honed my ability to explain complex concepts in simple terms and gained familiarity with teaching over online platforms like Zoom. I also enjoy getting to know my students over the course of the semester and mentoring them. For the past two years, I have worked as an Organic Chemistry Teaching Assistant and private chemistry tutor. My true passions lie in helping other pre-med students conquer challenging chemistry material. I do this through making chemistry fun. For example, when teaching the notoriously challenging topic of stereochemistry in organic chemistry, I draw food related analogies to make the material more accessible. I tutor the majority of my students remotely so I am accustomed to drawing reaction mechanisms online. Additionally, for my TA position, I am required to lead a 2-hour workshop session weekly where I present in front of a group of 20 students.
