In college, I majored in Molecular Biochemistry and Biophysics, and later got a Masters degree in Biochemistry. I have worked as a researcher in different labs, giving me a hands on practical experience with a lot of the concepts I tutor.

I like to engage students in the learning process and give them multiple perspectives on a given topic. I often ask tricky questions to test what confuses the student or what details they tend to overlook. I also like to use colorful pens, and that is always a plus!

I have 10 years worth of tutoring experience. I like to break down complex concepts in ways that are simpler and intuitive, and help you fill in any knowledge gaps that might be causing you to fall behind in the class. Chemistry, especially Organic Chemistry, is a very cumulative subject, and missing out on core, basic concepts is often why the material gets so hard.

I started tutoring chemistry while I was a sophomore in college. I've been a TA for General Chemistry I and Organic Chemistry I and II, doing exam review sessions for the class, as well as preparing and presenting workshops on specific topics like stereochemistry, projections, reaction mechanisms, retrosynthesis and more. I received a top tutor award from my college based on student ratings and working habit. I also completed a teaching certification program though my university academic resource center. I have been a private tutor ever since and I love it!

I am a native speaker. I was born and raised in Bulgaria, and even went to high school there before moving to the US. I speak and write fluently in Bulgarian and can help with technical translations in the fields of biology and chemistry.
