"Asian-American, fluent in Japanese. M.Ed. in Japanese language education at DePaul University, Chicago. Passed N1 of JLPT two times (2005 and 2013). Worked as translator in Tokyo for Japanese banks in the 2000s and 2010s. Afterwards I became a Japanese teacher and tutor for high school, university, and adult students (ages 15-70) for over 10 years. Currently I am a Japanese high school teacher in Chicago (teach all levels from beginning to AP Japanese).

What makes me different? I have organized slides and structured lessons that make learning easier and progress you through a chapter. My classroom students have won awards at state and national competitions. Students are able to go to Japan being able to communicate. Students who are adept at learning Japanese in the classroom tend to go at a fast pace. They learn to become confident in all forms of communication (speaking, reading, writing, listening.)
