In my classroom and my private tutoring online, I have helped many students increase their reading fluency, comprehension scores, and confidence. In my 12 of teaching, I continued to see so many students struggle with reading that I decided to get trained in Orton-Gillingham. I spent 60 hours of coursework on the Orton Gillingham approach and 82 hours tutoring a supervised practicum from a fellow from the Orton Gillingham Academy. I have tutored 900+ hours on and off of Wyzant using OG. I love using Orton Gillingham and love seeing students succeed in reading! Orton-Gillingham focuses on multi-sensory techniques and spelling to support reading. These strategies are great for students with Dyslexia and reading difficulties.
