"I have been teaching for 24 years in K-3. I have a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and a Master's degree in Reading and Literacy. For the last 10 years I have been a reading interventionist. I'm also trained in the Orton Gillingham approach to structured literacy. I'm a certified structured literacy classroom teacher through the Center for Effective Reading Instruction, a division of the International Dyslexia Association.

I have a passion for helping struggling readers gain confidence when they see themselves as a reader. I specialize in tutoring in reading, writing, and comprehension which includes phonics and spelling. As your child's tutor I will assess your student and lay out a specific scope and sequence based on your child's needs to help guide them to becoming a successful reader. I will create fun and engaging lessons centered on your child's unique abilities.

As an elementary teacher I also have extensive experience in teaching elementary math concepts, so I can help your child get ahead in math as well.
