"Feeling overwhelmed by chemistry or math? Let me help you make sense by turning mountains into molehills...or at least moles!
A National Merit Scholar, I graduated cum laud from Brigham Young University in 2006 with a BS in Chemistry. I continued my study with graduate coursework in analytical chemistry. While at BYU, I was a teaching assistant for undergraduate analytical chemistry, graduate analytical chemistry, chemical literature and writing, undergraduate organic chemistry and tap dance. I received three different teaching awards and stipends for my hard work. I even taught an organic chemistry laboratory class designed for pre-med and pre-dental students--twice. As a graduate student, I developed a laboratory for other graduate students, including ordering my own lasers and designing my own equipment setup.
Through the University of Phoenix online, I completed an MA in secondary education with a 4.0. Being a certified teacher means I get to practice helping students learn every day.
I have taught physical science, general chemistry, and honors chemistry at Desert Vista High School in Phoenix for 8+ years. When I find free time, I have worked as a private tutor for chemistry, AP chemistry, college chemistry, organic chemistry, trigonometry, and AP calculus. I love working with individual students as I can find what works for you--I can speak chemistry in YOUR language!
Tired of feeling like chemistry is a mountain you just can't conquer? Think how amazing the view will be from the top--I promise I can help you climb it." less...
