"Hi, I'm Emilie! My goal as a tutor is to help students gain both understanding and confidence in subjects that can feel overwhelming. I aim to provide support and motivation that meets students where they are, emphasizing progress over perfection. Mastering challenging material is as much about becoming comfortable with complex concepts as it is about content. I focus on helping students understand foundational ideas and build confidence through spaced repetition, which reinforces learning and aids memory. I also strive to create a space where students feel comfortable asking questions and working through difficult concepts at their own pace.

I bring both academic preparation and hands-on experience to tutoring. I graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in psychology and completed all the science prerequisites for medical school, including general and organic chemistry, biology, physics, biochemistry, and psychology, within the past five years. I recently took the MCAT, scoring 131 in the psych and sociology section, and will matriculate into medical school in Fall 2026. During undergrad, I often formed study groups to help peers understand complex concepts and also tutored a classmate in organic chemistry one-on-one, reviewing lecture slides, working through practice problems, and identifying areas that needed extra focus. These experiences taught me how to break down challenging material, adapt explanations to individual learning styles, and build confidence alongside content mastery.

I am excited to give back and support students the way others supported me. Currently, I work as a medical scribe, which has strengthened my communication skills and ability to explain complex ideas clearly.
