"Dear Students and Parents,

My name is Sherry Xu, and I am delighted to offer piano and music theory lessons to students of all ages and skill levels. I began playing the piano at the age of five, and with over twenty years of experience, music has become an essential part of my life and identity.

I recently passed the ABRSM Grade 5 Music Theory exam with distinction, and I am currently preparing for my Grade 8 Piano and Grade 8 Music Theory qualifications, which I aim to complete by 2026. My background also includes experience as a church pianist, where I developed a deep appreciation for expressive performance and accompanying others in musical settings.

As a teacher, I am passionate about helping students discover the joy of music while developing strong technical and theoretical foundations. I believe that learning the piano should be both rewarding and enjoyable. My approach is patient, gentle, and encouraging — I strive to create a comfortable and positive environment where students can build confidence and progress at their own pace.

Lessons can be arranged in person or online, depending on your preference and schedule. Whether you’re a beginner learning your first notes or an intermediate player hoping to refine your skills, I would be honored to guide you on your musical journey.
