"I'm Steven S.! I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Montana State University in 2021. While studying at MSU I also chose to take extra math classes for a couple of my years because I discovered a love for numbers. Taking those math classes fueled my love for mathematics even more and while doing that I developed a passion for helping other students overcome their struggles in math and economics. I have over 4 years of experience tutoring high school to college levels, specializing primarily in Calculus, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, and Statistics. That being said I am eager to help those who need help in any type of math or economics classes.

While at MSU I was hired as a tutor through my university and was often commended by my supervisor for scheduling more appointments than almost any other tutor. In those tutoring sessions and my current sessions, I always adjust my teaching style to fit the student's needs. With my experience through MSU and other sessions, I have found that the best thing to do first is to make sure I know their current level of understanding in the subject they need help with. When I have that knowledge I can build off of that and help the student understand the parts that they find confusing. Some examples of me building off of the knowledge they already have is being able to to walk them through the problem step by step. I have found this way to be successful because my students are not just getting an answer, but they are gaining the knowledge that will help them for future assignments.
