"I am an Arkansas native and a graduate of Hendrix College, where I received my B.A. in German Language and Literature. I spent 1.5 years to study abroad in both Italy and Germany, which broadened my interest for travel, dance, and foreign language. I also became more adaptable to change and different cultures, which instilled a curiosity and realization that one is a learner for life. For my senior year, I served as the language tutor for the German department in both group (up to 5) and private one on one settings. I enjoy tutoring because I am passionate about what I tutor, have been through the struggle of learning myself, and love seeing how my students progress in their confidence .

I am self taught in the languages listed above, which allowed me to become creative in learning, finding resources, being patient, accepting frustration as part of the process, and finding partners to practice with. Furthermore, I have spent significant time in Germany and Italy for language study and exploration. Besides dance, language learning is my passion, and I hope to continue with it in a relevant career in the future. Currently I work as an online translator for German and Italian. I was on the way to become certified to teach German in Berlin ´s official language schools before the pandemic, but it is still a plan in the works!

I have been dancing since I was 3 beginning with Shuffles and Ballet II, training with Arleen Sugano, and furthering my training with Arkansas Academy of Dance with Rebecca Stalcup. I participated in productions under Central Arkansas Ballet under the direction of Carrie Miller. In Italy, I took part in a dance program comprised of ballet, contemporary, improvisation, and choreography. I received a ballet dance scholarship from Hendrix College upon enrolling my freshman year and danced 3 semesters with the dance ensemble.
