"I graduated Cum Laude from UNC Charlotte with three degrees: mathematics, finance, and economics. I chose to follow the paths that interested me the most and I fell in love with math after years of hating it and wanting nothing to do with the subject. During my undergraduate studies, I tutored for two years in the math learning center; in addition, I was a teaching assistant for the college algebra workshops for three semesters.

I've found that students by far and large perform better when they understand the concept behind the material instead of the "magic" list of steps that achieve the correct answer. I had great success with explaining why things work and how they are related, as well as showing counterexamples that demonstrate why other things don't. It wasn't until I was able to draw connections for myself that I began to understand and enjoy math, so my teaching style is centered around explaining the relationships. I demonstrate these in a variety of ways: visuals, examples, and plain English.
