"I have an undergraduate degree in English and a paralegal certificate from the Community College of Denver. I've also had a lot of writing published as a journalist, both freelance pieces and as a staff member. I did a year of Americorps wherein I taught an average of 10 English lessons per day to children of all ages in an elementary school where most kids came from Spanish-speaking homes (I am proficient in Spanish). I did an hour of homework help daily with students of all elementary ages for an academic year.

I have been a writing tutor at the Community College of Denver's tutoring center called "The Excel Zone" for the past two years, where I assist students with writing for assignments from a variety of classes (social sciences, English, business courses and so on). This includes help with brainstorming, scholarly research, grammar, punctuation, mechanics, citation, formatting, understanding the assignment, thesis formation, paragraph structure, and more. I am highly motivated to help students succeed and empower them to do the work outside of our sessions as well.
