"I would love to be your tutor! I have extensive experience as an AP English teacher and Middle and High School Math Teacher, as well as a test prep tutor for over ten years.

As a classroom teacher, I worked to foster a culture of achievement, critical thinking, and a passion for learning. I worked closely with the Special Education department to develop a curriculum and instructional techniques that engage all of the students. I collaborated with the history and science teachers to align the content and skills taught in each class, and I built an online spreadsheet to track qualitative and quantitative data on student performance across the grade and throughout the year. This was one of our most effective tools for working one on one with students, increasing student mastery of objectives, and building relationships with our students and their families.

My English students made, on average, nearly two years of reading growth for every year that I taught them, a statistic that is possible because of my commitment to reaching every learner in my classroom. All of my students have found books that they absolutely love, and their reading skills skyrocket.

My math students develop critical thinking and problem solving skills, and learn to see standardized tests as puzzles to solve, instead of dread!
