"Hi, I'm Madison! I graduated high school with college credits in English, Earth and Environmental Science, as well as U.S. and World History. I also scored a 30 on the English section of the ACT. I'm going back to school next year to get my master's in music marketing and entrepreneurship! When I tutor, I try to make sure students understand and comprehend the material, not just memorize it.

One of the things that taught me the most about tutoring was helping my younger sister, who has dyslexia. When she had a hard time in English, I researched learning styles, teaching strategies, and even different fonts that could help her. With time and patience, she reached a proficient reading level and is now studying to be a nurse!

I've mainly tutored high school and college students. I helped a good friend with a few of her college classes by helping her build effective study habits, reinforcing core skills that made moving forward challenging, and teaching essay structure and organization.

When I tutor, I like to ask thought provoking questions that help students guide themselves through problems so they have a better understanding. I change each session to fit what the student wants to get out of it and how they learn best. Most of the students I've worked with were recommended to me by parents or older siblings.
