"My name is David L. I tutor regular and honors physics, AP Physics 1, AP Physics 2, AP Physics C - Mechanics, IB Physics, and College Physics 1 and 2. I have also worked with many students during their summer breaks to prepare them for upcoming courses in AP Physics 1, AP Physics C - Mechanics, or College Physics. I received a Bachelor's degree in Physics (with a minor in Math) from Sonoma State University and a Master's degree in Physics ("with Distinction") from DePaul University. I taught high school physics for 35 years (the last 31 years as the full-time physics teacher at a Bay Area High School). I also taught college physics part-time at the at Sonoma State University. Throughout my teaching career I also tutored physics. My approach is upbeat, encouraging, and aimed at deep understanding of the physics concepts. I have a deep knowledge of physics and have taught and tutored over 4,000 physics students (at least four of whom are now also successful physics teachers). I have also authored two books about Physics ("Physics: An Introduction" and "The Physics of Music and Musical Instruments").
