"My teaching methodology is to aid my students in developing an intuition that will allow them to easily tackle complex problems, understand underlying principles, and independently overcome difficulties when faced with challenging material.
I'm particularly passionate about teaching science to people who feel like their brains "don't do science". The best feeling is when someone initially says "I can't do this. I'm just not good at this" comes back and shares their successes with me.
In 2019 I got a PhD in Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Colorado, Boulder. Additionally I have a M.S. in Environmental Engineering from UC Berkeley, and a B.S. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Since completing my education I have worked as a scientist both in the tech industry, and with National Laboratories.
At UC Berkeley I taught an introductory fluid mechanics course, for which I obtained outstanding student reviews. In the past I have also independently tutored engineering graduate students in physics, chemistry, calculus, fluid mechanic, Spanish, and programming. Besides college-aged students I've found through Wyzant that I really enjoy teaching k-12. I am available to tutor middle-school, high-school, and basic undergraduate math (algebra, geometry, pre-calc, calculus), and programming (MATLAB, Python).
También enseño en Español.
Feel free to contact me for information about my future availability. I look forward to hearing from you!" less...
