"Hi I am Marcin! I achieved Dean's List (3.5+or above GPA) and the President's List 1(3.9+or above GPA) multiple times; I believe that my teachers made a huge impact and were very inspiring. They were all very patient and thorough in class and willing to help. I now do the same for my students. My lesson planning and theory goes like this: I am very patient and inviting of people who take their time to think deeply. I make interactive lesson plans with many examples and graphics to help students to understand, since I know everyone has their own way of learning. I make sure that there are questions very often while I am explaining things and prepare some questions beforehand for lecture as concept checks. I structure lessons such that they have example problems right after I introduce a topic. I give students class time to ensure instant feedback and help so that learning does not feel overwhelming.
I taught Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 as a college instructor at University of Michigan Math Corps for 2 summer months. I lectured 15 students. 5 were senior students in High School who helped grades 7, 8 and 9 with algebra. I taught one-on-one for pairs and groups of 3. So I have a good framework for directly addressing one student's needs, as well as working with groups of students since I know people can feel left out or ashamed to ask questions when working in groups. I also help extra help at breakfast and lunch for students wanting more help.
Recently, I tutored Calculus 1, 2 and 4 in one-on-one settings in my university library. I like to help with Calculus 1 due to requiring a strong foundation in Algebra to succeed, and thus I can employ my experience therein. I also had one-on-one sessions on new platforms Zoom and on Discord for Calculus 4 topics during Covid and afterward
My goal and priority is my students' progress, and I acknowledge that it takes time. I am willing to help however I can. Please ask any questions about my teaching style to your needs." less...
