"Hi! My name is Kayla, and I would love the opportunity to support your child in their learning journey. I specialize in working with elementary students (grades K–3) in math, English, and grammar. I know that every child has the ability to learn and grow with the right encouragement, and my goal is to make our sessions feel positive and confidence-building rather than overwhelming. I want your child to feel comfortable asking questions, exploring new ideas, and celebrating the progress they make along the way.
Here are a few things to know about me: I studied Social Work in college for three years, which gave me a strong understanding of how different students learn and how to adapt my approach to meet their needs. I’ve worked with young learners on the basics like ABCs, 123s, and kindergarten foundations, and I’ve also helped my nephew through math and English homework up to second grade. I was an AP English student in high school and later joined speech and debate in college, which gave me a strong background in reading comprehension, grammar, and even early writing skills.
Most of my tutoring experience is in elementary math, and I especially enjoy breaking concepts down into simple, step-by-step explanations that help students feel capable and confident. I also love supporting young learners with phonics, grammar, and sentence writing. During our sessions, I bring patience, encouragement, and flexibility - adjusting to whether your child learns best through visuals, hands-on practice, or guided steps. More than anything, I want your child to leave our time together not only understanding the lesson but also believing in their own ability to keep learning and succeeding.
If this sounds like the type of support you’re looking for, I’d be excited to work with your child and help them build skills, confidence, and a love of learning. I look forward to meeting you and getting started!" less...
