"I'm Shounak! I am a medical student with a strong background in math, science, and engineering. I graduated with a bachelor's degree in computer science and am currently undergoing my medical training where I get to apply problem solving, analytical thinking, and efficient study strategies on a daily basis. I believe that the best learning happens when concepts are broken down and taught in a simple step by step manner. I focus on identifying a student's baseline understanding, gauging where they have gaps in their comprehension, explaining topics using intuitive examples, and reinforcing learning through guided practice. My sessions are structured, but flexible and I adapt my teaching style to match the needs and goals of each student.
I have been tutoring students in one-on-one or group settings since 2016. I have worked directly with students ranging from middle school to graduate school and tutored them in a wide range of subjects including chemistry, biology, biochemistry, algebra, pre-calculus, geometry, computer science courses, and test prep including ACT, MCAT, USMLE/COMLEX exams. I held tutoring sessions on an as needed basis to help students prepare applications for college and medical school, complete homework, and prepare for exams.
I want our sessions to be as beneficial as possible, so I welcome any resources or suggestions students of guardians can provide. I am easy to communicate with and responsive to messages. Whether you're looking for help keeping up in class, preparing for exams, or gearing up to apply for college/medical school, I'd be happy to help! Feel free to reach out with any questions or to schedule a lesson!" less...
