"I've been a high school Math teacher for 20 years. Prior to that I worked as an actuary for 10 years. I love Math, and my mission is to show others how beautiful and enjoyable math can be. My teaching philosophy is that mistakes are critical for growth in Math. Making mistakes is an indication that the student is being challenged.

My experience as a math major in college, and successful completion of the Society of Actuaries exams shows that I have competence in the subject matter. But it is my teaching experience that has taught me the most about math. The subject is hard (for most people at least, me included), but it is precisely because it is hard that it is so valuable and pleasurable.

I am qualified and experienced in all topics in high school math, including IB and AP courses, and some college courses.

Technology is rapidly changing the way Math is taught and learned. I make an effort to keep up to date with the latest innovations. Some of my favorite tools right now are manim for illustrations, desmos for all kinds of analysis, and geogebra for 3d illustrations.
