"Hi! I’ve been an online English and writing tutor (one on one) for over 4 years! In addition, I’ve done in person tutoring in creative writing. I have a BS in English and an MFA in Creative Writing. I graduated with a 3.9 GPA and was on the Dean's list. I was also the Secretary of Alpha Lambda Delta and the Treasurer of Phi Sigma Tau. I won the Elizabeth Jones English Language Scholarship and Academic Excellence Scholarship.

The students I’ve taught range from K-12, college, and graduate. I love working with all ages and can easily adjust my learning style. I can help students with the organization, citations, formatting, and clarity of their essays. In addition, I proofread and edit documents. I also help students who are new to essay writing to understand the structure of essays, developing a thesis, and forming outlines.

Since I have a degree in creative writing, I really enjoy working on stories and other creative pieces that students have written. I provide comments and tips on improving elements of their stories such as character development and dialogue. I also like to use storytelling in my lessons with children to improve their reading skills. When tutoring children, I aim to keep them engaged by incorporating topics that interest them, especially when it comes to memorization and spelling.

Patience, kindness, and understanding are key elements of my tutoring sessions along with guiding the student and achieving the specific goals they have. I know that each student learns in a variety of ways, so I make sure to work at the student’s pace and make the learning experience more enjoyable. I also provide reassurance and comfort.
