"Hi, I'm Zoe. In high school, I didn't write research papers, do internships every summer, or win any awards. I always thought I was way behind my peers and was sure I didn't have a shot of getting in to any of the top colleges. However, I learned that having a strong GPA and SAT/ACT score gets your foot in the door, and without that, you don't even have a chance at admission. I already had a strong math/reading foundation, and after spending a good chunk of my summer studying for the SAT, I got a 1570! I think my SAT score was one of the biggest factors in my admission to Carnegie Mellon University, which I will be attending in the fall next year.

When studying for the SAT, I discovered several strategies and small tips/tricks to improve time efficiency and make sure no points are left on the table. My lessons include reviewing questions the student had trouble with, introducing new strategies that may benefit them, and time at the end to drill specific concepts the student could use more practice with. Of course, lesson plans are always flexible and will be tailored to the student's individual needs.

I have extensive tutoring experience; I previously worked at a coding school, teaching programming to groups of 15+ middle schoolers. For the past four years, I've tutored English Second Language for a small group of Chinese high schoolers. I've also volunteered as a peer tutor at my school, teaching math and Chinese 1-on-1.
