"Hello! My name is Bassil and I am a tenure-track chemistry professor at a selective liberal arts college. I obtained dual Bachelor degrees in chemistry and chemical engineering graduating summa cum laude, and obtained a PhD in chemical engineering focusing on organic materials and polymers. I've always found a strong passion in teaching, and specifically in dismantling the fear barriers many students have about chemistry and math specifically.

I have had many teaching and tutoring opportunities throughout the years. I started as an athlete tutor during my last two years of my undergraduate career, and have TAed and cotaught university level classes in statistics and chemical engineering. During my postdoctoral years in Chicago from 2018 to 2021, I worked at a tutoring center and taught high-school and college students in various subjects including algebra, general chemistry, organic chemistry, algebra, statistics, and calculus. I have also helped students with their AP chemistry and SAT II chemistry and math prep. Currently, I am teaching chemistry courses at the college-level as a full time professor.

I strive to benefit the students I work with to the fullest degree possible. I will work on the students specific needs and listen to parental suggestions regarding teaching.
