"Greetings!

I have always believed that all students are capable of progress and improvement. As a child, I did not really have much help with my school work, so I understand how frustrating it may feel when things seem impossible to comprehend or complete. Furthermore, sometimes it is hard to ask for help and to acknowledge that we need help. However, I have come to learn that not only is asking for help a sign of strength and courage but also the biggest step toward success and progress. I want to help you work towards that.

Following graduating from high school I pursued undergraduate studies at Temple University where I earned a B.S. with a double major in neuroscience and religion. From there I went on to earn my M.S. in Psychology, School Psychology from Millersville University. Several years later I obtained a M.A. in Philosophical Studies and completed 2/3 of a Master of Divinity.

My teaching experience touches all levels - from elementary school to high school and to the university settings, both private and public. Previously I have worked at Millersville University with the college age population in the capacity of an Outreach Counselor and Life and Study Skills instructor. I worked with incoming freshmen who were from "disadvantaged backgrounds," where we focused on fostering resilience and developing strong, effective coping, life, and study skills. I was fortunate enough to work with 2 cohorts of students.

My tutoring philosophy and approach is a "hands-on approach" where I truly believe that in order to fully experience the lesson we must use multiple and different modalities - seeing, feeling, and hearing. This will allow all types of students to actively engage and experience the subject at hand. In my lessons I like to use guided reading, worksheets, practice tests, problem solving, experiments, and question exploration.

If my experience and approach seem to be a match with your (child's) needs please feel free to send me a message!" less...
