"Hi! I am Michelle. I went to school in New York at SUNY Old Westbury. While obtaining my degree in Mathematics, I also completed many education courses. I went on to San Francisco State University to work on my Master's Degree in Mathematics.
I am currently an Adjunct Math Professor at Sacramento City College and Woodland Community College. I have been tutoring mathematics courses for more than 16 years: private tutoring, tutoring at multiple learning centers, and tutoring online. While working on my degree, I taught lower level college mathematics courses at San Francisco State University for 4 years. I have worked with Gifted and Talented students as well as students with special needs for 5 years in an online environment. Now I work with students at the community college level.
I love sharing my knowledge and being a part of other people's learning process. Not only do I tutor, but I manage a team of tutors who support secondary-level mathematics, physics, and computer science courses. I support my team by conducting professional developments and quality assurance empowering them to be the best tutors they can be.
As a lover of games, I like to show students how to treat math problems as a puzzle and use the building blocks to put the pieces together and arrive at the final answer. I encourage students to build a good foundation and not to just study tricks to pass a test. I'm a true believer that anyone can learn a new concept if they can find the way that they learn best.
