"I have worked for several years within the Special Education department for William S. Hart Union High School District, as an instructional assistant. Before coming to California, I worked with the Ferndale Public School District in Ferndale, Michigan, where I have held many positions. I have been a media specialist, a one-on-one instructional assistant, a technologist, a science coordinator and a substitute teacher for all grades from Pre-K to Adult Education. I have had informal training with a multi-sensory method for teaching students with dyslexia how to process the written language called Orton-Gillingham. I hold a Master's Degree in special education, a Bachelors Degree in interdisciplinary studies, and an Associates Degree in instructional technology.

I have a child who has dyslexia so I not only know how to help these students manipulate the brain in order to read, I also have an idea how parents feel who are faced with this disorder in their children.
